Helping Children Heal from the Hurt of Separation or Divorce DC4K here at Lighthouse is a special small group, safe and neutral for children to heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. It’s a place for them to recognize and learn to share their feelings. Children experiencing divorce tell us they feel alone, helpless, scared, sad, and confused at times. They may hide their feelings from you the parent because they are worried about your happiness or they are not sure how to express their feelings appropriately. You the parent will receive a weekly “Parent Page” describing what the child has learned and offering tips to strengthen the parent/child relationship, creating a stronger bond between you and your children. The DC4K leadership team consists of people who share a genuine concern about the way divorce is affecting your children now and in the future. Many of the leaders have been through the divorce of their own parents or have experienced a divorce themselves and are examples of the healing and restoration that can occur. They understand the issues surrounding a divorce and want to help your children. Best of all, children will learn how God’s love can strengthen them and help turn tears to hope and joy. Our DC4K group meets weekly in 13 – week cycles. Each session is filled with motivating and exciting activities. Games, crafts, role playing, discussion times, journaling and workbooks help your children process the divorce and move forward in their lives. Times: 6:30 – 8:30 PM every Wednesday at the main campus. Contact us at (253) 848-2028 Learn more about the DC4K sessions at www.dc4k.org |
