Guide to Get Connected

Let's face it. We need each other. At Lighthouse, we travel in groups. Then, if one person encounters a hill, a valley, or something in between, others are nearby to help.

 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up! (Eccl. 4:10)

To ensure your spiritual traveling safety, we'd like to help you band together with other believers. So, we've developed a process to aid you in stepping out to get connected. We encourage you to step out in faith and take the initiative, since you're really in the best position to determine your best traveling environment.

Countdown to Connection

5-Take Five

Take five minutes before or after services to scan the kiosks and grab five ministry brochures that capture your interest.

Key action: Investigate.

Reflect: Assess you own needs and those of your family. Which Lighthouse ministry might best address those needs?

Connection Point: Friendly Welcome Center Staff and Greeters are available in the foyer before and after services to field any questions you may have and help you locate the ministry information that best meets your needs. Welcome Cards are available in the back of the chairs as your primary communication tool with the Pastors and Staff.

4-Meet Four

Meet at least four people each week:

  • Try to find out how long people have been attending Lighthouse and where they're most connected.
  • Find out something interesting about each person, and then introduce them to someone else.

Key action: Relate.

Reflect: What else could I find out about people as I meet them for the first time?

Connection Point: Ushers are located throughout the auditorium to assist you in any way they can. By taking the initiative to greet others seated near you, you make a step of faith since you never know whether you will be making contact with another fellow newcomer or a seasoned member at Lighthouse. Be on the lookout for divine appointments!

3-Contact Three

Call or email the ministry leaders of your top three ministry choices and ask three questions of each. Click here for contact information on each ministry area or look over the Lighthouse Ministries that most interest you and click on the email link to contact each leader.

Key action: Initiate

Reflect: What information would I most like to know about my top three potential ministries?

Connection Point: Trained ministry leaders are ready and anticipating your questions, concerns, and are available for prayer support as you make your decision about where to get involved.

2-Try Two

Experiment with at least two different ministry options:

  • Visit and ask questions.
  • Compare how well each ministry matches your needs.
  • Pray for God's leading before you make a final decision to jump in.
Key action: Evaluate
Reflect: How will this ministry help me and my family grow spiritually? What does my involvement bring to this ministry?

Connection Point: Building relationships with other believers is vital to spiritual growth. By trying out a couple of ministry options, you are allowing others to speak into your life.

1-Commit to One

Decide on one ministry, give it a go for a season, and determine if it's a fit for you.
  • Allow yourself a chance to get over any awkwardness of a new setting.
  • Fully participate to get the most out of any ministry.

Key Action: Participate

Reflect: What, if any, are my barriers to full participation? How can I address these?

Connection Point: Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your decision and watch for fruit as you commit to participating for a season. A little time is all it takes!
