The service ministry is actively working on continuing and developing opportunities for men to utilize their unique gifts and talents in growing the kingdom while serving Christ.
Because many men find that relationships are more easily developed while working on common goals together, we are encouraging men to utilize their talents in building, landscaping and repair in the Service Ministries. These skills are needed across the world, nation, local communities and the Lighthouse family.
Currently, opportunities to serve include various mission trips, volunteer weekends, Backyard Missions, and Single Parent and Widowed (SAW) Program. Lighthouse members have involved themselves in building and repair work as far away as Romania and Mexico. Every year a work party is formed for a weekend trip to Canby, Oregon to volunteer their services at a Christian camp. Backyard Missions evolved from the 40 Days of Community study that Lighthouse Care Communities ran two years ago and focuses on showing Christian love and witnessing to the unchurched/non-believers and God's lost children while fellowshipping and helping people work on their homes and yards. SAW focuses on single parent families and the widowed with help on home projects and sometimes mentoring youth in the household.
To help with Lighthouse facility needs and member needs, please contact me and I can assist you getting plugged into the electrical group, shoveled into the landscaping group or wherever God and your talents lead you.
