What can I
expect when I arrive?
The big idea At Lighthouse, our services are designed to
help you experience God's presence. We want you to be both encouraged and
challenged by God's presence through worship, looking at God's Word, and by
experiencing Christian community. Don't worry- we won't put you on the
spot or single you out. However, we will try to love and encourage you
first to know Jesus and then to follow Him.
Nordstrom's or K-Mart? When you come to Lighthouse, you'll find a
warm and informal atmosphere and be greeted by friendly people who love
Jesus. Don't worry about what to wear.
Things are pretty casual at Lighthouse; wear whatever feels
comfortable. Wherever you buy your
clothes, you'll be just fine. Come as you are.
Parental perspective Your children, from birth to sixth grade
will be offered age appropriate classes during the service. If you child is a preschooler, you'll want to
drop them at their classes before the service starts. If you need help knowing where they should
go, make your way to the Welcome
Center or simply ask one
of our greeters or ushers. Also, there
is a parent's room for parents with fussy children. It has a one way mirror into the sanctuary so
you'll be able to stay connected.
The actual service When you enter the sanctuary, there will be a
time of worship and singing; you'll
hear great modern worship music from a band whose members sing and play from
their hearts. An offering will not be taken during the service,
but if you are a believer and desire to give, there is an offering box where
you can present your tithes and offerings to God. There's a two minute
greeting time designed, not to make you feel uncomfortable, but to help you
connect. After all, that's why you're
coming, right? So just go up to someone
and say, "Hi, this is my first time at Lighthouse." Dr. Art Hunt will bring a practical message which will focus on
Biblical truths and their application in your life. You'll enjoy his sense of humor, informal approach, and knowledge of God's Word.
After the service After the service (or before!) be sure and
stop by our coffee bar and have an espresso or a hot chocolate. It'll
give you time to meet some new friends.
Browse our kiosk's, which are packed with information, or if you prefer
to speak to someone, visit our Welcome
Center.
Finally, after the service make your way to the Conference Room right by the Welcome Center in the foyer. There will be real people there-people just
like you-to say hello to and have your questions answered.
And if you get a chance, introduce yourself to Pastor Art . He'll be the guy at the front door with the
big grin.
