Five ways to describe him: Compassionate, passionate, hardworking, faithful, has the heart of a Shepherd.

What he does for Lighthouse: Roger ministers in the area of Pastoral Care here at Lighthouse.  That means that he oversees support groups like Celebrate Recovery and Divorce Care as well as spending some of his time every week helping people with physical, spiritual, financial or emotional needs!  Because of Roger's background, he also handles our Facility Management. (Such versitility!)

His family life: Roger met and married his wife, Connie, in 1972 while stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Viet Nam conflict. (Yes, Roger is a Navy man.)  They have two grown children, Wendi and Tim. (Both were part of the first youth group of LCC). Tim lives in Seattle and works as a Regional Sales Manager for a Fitness organization. Wendi is married to Scott and they are Associate Pastors in Bremerton, WA along with their four sons.

His previous life: After the military, during his 17 years of living in Hawaii, Roger went to University of Hawaii in Business Management.  At the same time he managed commercial and condominium properties for 12 new developments in Mililani, Hawaii. Eventually, he moved into industrial sales management. The church he was involved in at the time grew in membership from 200 to 3000 over 15 years.   That's where his beginning lessons in minstry took place.  He served in all kinds of ways, from youth ministry to home group leader to leadership on the church board.  In 1986 Roger and his family moved to the mainland where he spent several years working in industrial sales.

After moving to Puyallup in 1989 Roger and his family joined Pastor Art and the founding team to pioneer Lighthouse.  When the building was finished in 2002 and more help was needed in the ministry of Lighthouse, Roger was asked by the Leadership Committee to begin to live-out his childhood calling of being a pastor.

Things you might not know about Roger: He likes to landscape and garden for relaxation! He enjoys hiking and talking with his best friend, his son, Tim. He and Connie love being with "their boys" (grandsons) and their parents. They take pleasure in working on home projects as time allows and reading.  Roger and Connie feel most contented when they are "partnering in ministry".

His choice of footwear: Cowboy boots!  Being born and raised in New Mexico, Roger's cowboy boots have taken him on many adventures.  He will tell though, that his most fulfilling advanture has been being on staff at Lighthouse Christian Center.

His heart: Everyone who has the pleasure of working with Roger knows one thing:  Roger has a servant's heart!
