“Hot Topics" is a series of messages about Christian ethics beginning the last weekend in September. Now, before you click the mouse to move on, remember that ethics is central to life, central to Jesus’ call to discipleship. All of us live in a world where we have to deal with issues like marriage and divorce, sexuality and race. We must make decisions about how we value life at its beginning and at its end. We must choose even what we think about gender roles. My point is simply that believers should come to these decisions with Jesus at the center, using God’s Word as the ethical authority.  We must decide about "hot topics" with God's truth at the center of the decision.  

This subject is relevant to every believer. The Christian community here at Lighthouse needs to dialogue about contemporary ethical issues. We need to talk. We need to reason together about what is right and wrong. As we do, we will also be more able to have meaningful conversations with those who disagree with us, even those who are far from God.

So come on, let’s talk. Let’s have a number of conversations about ethical truth. Let's tackle some hot topics together.  Let’s let Jesus shape our minds and heart as we follow Him.
