Kids and parents night at Uprising!! Parents are invited to join us on Wednesday evening January 25 for Uprising. We meet from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. It is a kid and parent night and you will together experieince games, worship and our message for the week. When the kids go to their small groups (between 7:50 and 8:00), the parents will meet to hear what is in store this spring and summer for your kids as well as some great parenting events that are planned. I will also open it up for questions and comments. Please come and share a great experience with your kids and our youth staff. LOL: Leading Others in Love Do you like to be in front leading the way? Is God teaching you things you are just itching to try? Are you thinking "It's time to get off the bench and into the game!"? Then we've got the place for you! LOL: Leading Others in Love is a youth leadership program that focuses on helping you grow in leadership by studying the greatest leader ever - JESUS! This class is geared toward service-minded youths ages 11-14 years. This is a 12 week class (February 5 through April 29). We will meet at the Sunday 8am service in Room 10 for a group breakfast followed by a dynamic study and hands on activities - THEN we will be putting into practice what we've learned by serving in the 9:45am service! A wide range of service options are available - the harvest is plenty. The class will cover LCC policies and procedures, basic first aid, CPR, group management as well as exploring serving opportunities ranging from working with kids to helping set up and break down and more! Our Normal schedule is as follows: Deeper – Our Sunday morning Bible study starts just after the 9:45 AM worship set is finished (around 10:05) and ends at 11:00 AM. Uprising - On Wednesday evening our Junior High youth group gathers at 7:00 PM. We start with fellowship and continue with games and group-building activities and finish with a lesson, small group discussion and prayer. We ask that parents pick up their kids at 8:30 PM. Our Focus – Our teaching emphasis will be to have the youth, through lessons and experiences, answer these three questions: Who am I? Who is Jesus? How do I follow Jesus? Our goals are for each student to know God personally, experience being a Christian disciple, and begin to discover God’s personal plan for their lives. Our adult leaders are committed, mature Christians who have a special God-given passion to love, mentor, teach, and shepherd junior high youth. They are excited about their opportunity to serve God by ministering to the junior high youth here at Lighthouse Christian Center. Also, we need more Volunteers! If you are a Grandparent, Parent, College Student or anything in between and feel that God has called you to work with youth ministry and would be willing to volunteer your time we would love to use your gifts and talents!
