Learning Groups
are short-term experiences that dig into a specific area of faith with the intention of deepening and strengthening our understanding of God and how to express His love in every sphere of life. Classes are offered on God's Word, healthy relationships, ministry equipping and caring for our relationship with God. New classes are offered each fall, winter, and spring.

  • Battling Depression: Finding Grace & Restoring Hope (Women)

Battling Depression: Finding Grace & Restoring Hope (Women)

You have feelings of hopelessness, deep sadness, loneliness and even despair. A huge invisible weight is pressing you down and seems to keep you from a full life with Jesus. You are under shadows of guilt and shame. You battle against people telling you "do this" and "try that" but you feel they don't understand.

If this sounds familiar or sounds like someone you know, join us for an in-depth Bible study on depression. Let's have a discussion and find answers. Let's talk about practical steps toward healing. Let's expose depression for what it is. Let’s find out what God's Word says about grace and restored hope as a lasting result against battling depression.

There is surely a future hope for you and your hope will not be cut off.  Proverbs 23:18

  • Communicating Jesus Effectively to a Broken World

Communicating Jesus Effectively to a Broken World

We often feel overwhelmed when we're faced with ideas that challenge our beliefs. Sometimes, we even have doubts about our own faith. In those moments we may not have the confidence or answers to respond effectively. When talking with those with different views, we tend to shy away from meaningful conversations. In 1 Peter 3:15, we are instructed to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” So, in these conversations, we want to be able to give good answers.

This group is designed to give you the tools to confidently engage in important conversations with the people you care about, as well as address your own doubts and questions. We will explore some general strategies for conversations and learn specifics about how to respond to some common objections to our Christian beliefs.

  • Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible

Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible

We know how important it is to study God’s Word. But sometimes we just don't know where to start. A lack of time, emotionally driven approaches, and/or past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. The challenge for us as Christian women is to keep our focus and sustain our passion while reading the Bible.

Come learn with us as we dig into an infused study on Jen Wilkin’s book “Women of the Word: How to study the Bible with Our Hearts and Our Minds”. This book equips you to engage God’s Word in a way that trains your mind and transforms your heart. We will journey through her simple format for learning to study the Bible and practice this format with the book of James.

  • Bought at a Price

    Bought at a Price

In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Paul reminds Christians that our bodies “are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in us.” He goes on to say that we are “not our own” and were “bought at a price.” He ends by simply saying, “Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”

In light of this verse and as part of our own personal journeys with health and wellness, we are calling women to join us on a redemptive journey towards understanding how God views our bodies, lifestyle and role in His kingdom. Our day-to-day lives should mirror the way God’s physical temple was cared for in the Old Testament. In the busyness of everyday life, women should not just take care of their bodies through diet and physical exercise, but through Sabbath rest, balanced schedules, and a mindset rid of unhealthy stress and anxiety. All of this is done not of our own accord but through the power of the Holy Spirit inside of us.
