Good News Club at Fruitland

Good News Club at Fruitland

Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. This weekly interdenominational Christian program is for children 5-12 years and typically features a Bible lesson, songs, memory verses, and games. Lighthouse is privileged to lead the after-school Good News Club at Fruitland Elementary. The purpose of this club is to share the Gospel of Jesus with kids while establishing them in the Word of God.

We are looking for 20-25 volunteers to help out at our Good News Club starting in January of 2022. Our club will meet every Tuesday after school days from 4:00pm-5:15pm. Volunteers will be teaching Bible lessons, crafting, leading games, and doing special projects with the kids.

Proof of COVID vaccination and a background check are required. Volunteers need to be at least 15 years old. If under 18, please sign up to volunteer alongside an adult.

Caring for Our Foreign-Born Neighbors

Caring for Our Foreign-Born Neighbors

With the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, many Afghan lives are in danger, especially those who have been working alongside our U.S. Troops. The U.S. has prioritized 70,000 Afghans to be evacuated for resettlement within our borders over the next few weeks. However, with their temporary humanitarian parole status, they will not have the range of benefits that are traditionally given to refugees and SIVs. Our government will not provide housing, food assistance, language and job services, or medical and mental health services. This is where our church can enter into their story.

Lighthouse is partnering with World Relief as we expect over 5,000 refugees to enter Seattle over the next few months. World Relief (with its main hub right here in Seattle) is the largest Christian organization authorized to resettle refugees and asylum-seekers.
