Pastor Brandon Sales
John 15:4-11
September 14, 2025

  • 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned… 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

  • Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.

  • God is God, and I am not.
I am the vine; you are the branches… (John 15:5)

Life without God is a road to ruin.
4 As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me... 6 If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. (John 15:4, 6)

No self-rescue. Only God’s power to change.
Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

  • Christianity rests on God’s faithful love.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. (John 15:9)

    Transformation flows from His love.
Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit...Abide in my love...(John 15:5, 9)

We don’t obey to be loved. We obey because we are loved.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love. (John 15:10)

  • Because relationship with one another is at the core of being a disciple of Christ, we invite you to find community and experience spiritual transformation through LCC’s groups, classes, events, and service opportunities.
