Pastor Brandon Sales
Ephesians 6:13-16 (NIV)
August 10, 2025

  • 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

  • The Christian faith is a WAR, not a vacation.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16 ESV)

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins… following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— …passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind… (Ephesians 2:1-3 ESV)

  • God has given us spiritual protection in the war against evil.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist… (Ephesians 6:14)

Stand firm then… with the breastplate of righteousness in place. (Ephesians 6:14b)

14 Stand firm then… 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:14-15)
